Happy Easter! Went down to DC to visit and celebrate with friends and it was the PERFECT time to go. It was a non-stop weekend that started with a walk all around the monuments where the cherry blossoms were in full effect. Our Easter brunch was hosted in this GLORIOUS home which was built in 1790. I couldn't help but imagine all the people that had walked in the halls over the years (I know, I know I am a bit of a cheese ball that way...but I really do love all the history in places). Our generous host humored me and told me the stories behind all the people in the paintings.

Then to a cupcake decorating party/tutorial with the founder of @redvelvetnyc Agathe Assouline-Litchen. They were beyond delicious. Red Velvet NYC is like the Blue Apron of desserts (which is SO much better, no?) All the ingredients for the recipe shipped right to your door.

Turned a corner and the Washington Monument just peeked through the cherry blossom trees...had a bit of a patriotic moment.
